Cookies Policy
Last updated: 26 June 2026
This document is a general template provided for transparency and is not legal advice. Please have it reviewed by a qualified professional before relying on it.
This Cookies Policy explains how Ashcroft Technologies SIA (a private limited company, or "SIA", registered in the Republic of Latvia under registration number 40203756999, with its registered office at Vienības iela 23-44, Daugavpils, LV-5401, Latvia) — referred to here as "Ashcroft Technologies", "we", "us" or "our" — uses cookies and similar technologies when you visit our website.
It should be read together with our Privacy Policy, which describes in more detail how we process personal data, and our Terms of Service, which govern your use of this website. Where cookies collect information that can identify you, that processing is carried out in accordance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and applicable Latvian law.
What are cookies
A cookie is a small text file that a website places on your device (computer, tablet or phone) when you visit it. Cookies are widely used to make websites work, to make them work more efficiently, and to provide information to the owners of the site.
Cookies can be set by the website you are visiting (known as "first-party" cookies) or by a different organisation whose content or services appear on the page (known as "third-party" cookies). They may also last for different lengths of time:
- Session cookies are temporary and are deleted automatically when you close your browser.
- Persistent cookies remain on your device for a set period, or until you delete them manually, so the site can recognise you on return visits.
Alongside cookies, we may use similar technologies such as local storage, pixels and software development kits (SDKs). For simplicity, we refer to all of these collectively as "cookies" in this policy.
How we use cookies
We use cookies for a limited and clearly defined set of purposes, and we aim to keep their use proportionate. In general, we use cookies to:
- make our website function correctly and securely, including remembering your cookie choices;
- remember preferences such as your language and display settings so you do not have to re-enter them;
- understand, on an aggregated and pseudonymised basis, how visitors find and use the site so we can improve it;
- measure the performance of our pages and forms, including our contact page; and
- where you have given consent, measure the effectiveness of any marketing or referral activity.
We do not use cookies to build intrusive profiles of you, and we do not sell information collected through cookies.
Types of cookies we use
The table below sets out the categories of cookies we may use, what they are for, examples of the kind of cookies in each category, and how long they typically last. The exact cookies present can vary as we update the site.
| Category | Purpose | Examples | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| Strictly necessary | Essential for the site to load, stay secure, balance server load and remember your cookie choices. These cannot be switched off in our systems. | Session identifier, security/CSRF token, cookie-consent record | Session to 12 months |
| Preferences | Remember choices you make — such as language, region or display settings — to give you a more personalised experience. | Language preference, theme/display setting | Up to 12 months |
| Analytics | Help us understand how visitors interact with the site, which pages are popular and where errors occur, on an aggregated and pseudonymised basis. | Privacy-friendly analytics identifiers, page-view and event counters | Session to 24 months |
| Marketing | Measure the effectiveness of campaigns and referrals and limit how often you see the same message. Set only with your consent and never by default. | Campaign attribution, conversion measurement | Up to 13 months |
Strictly necessary cookies are always active because the site cannot function properly without them. All other categories are optional and, where they involve non-essential cookies, are set only after you have given consent.
Third-party cookies
Some features on our site rely on services provided by other organisations, which may set their own cookies or receive limited technical information from your browser. These third parties act as independent controllers or as our processors, depending on the service. Examples include:
- Analytics providers that help us measure traffic and improve the site. We configure these to be as privacy-friendly as possible, for example by limiting or anonymising data where supported.
- Embedded fonts served by a web-font provider so that pages display with our intended typefaces.
- Embedded maps that may be used to show our location in Daugavpils, Latvia.
- Content delivery networks (CDNs) that serve static assets such as scripts, styles and images efficiently and securely.
We do not control cookies set by third parties, and their use is governed by their own privacy and cookie notices. Where these services involve transfers of personal data, we describe the relevant safeguards in our Privacy Policy.
Your choices & managing cookies
You are in control of cookies. When you first visit the site, non-essential cookies are not set until you make a choice. You can change or withdraw your consent at any time using the cookie settings available on the site; withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of any processing carried out before you withdrew it.
You can also manage and delete cookies directly in your browser. Most browsers let you block all cookies, block third-party cookies, delete existing cookies, or warn you before a cookie is stored. You will usually find these controls in the privacy or security settings of your browser:
- Google Chrome — Settings, then Privacy and security, then Cookies and other site data.
- Mozilla Firefox — Settings, then Privacy & Security, then Cookies and Site Data.
- Apple Safari — Settings (or Preferences), then Privacy.
- Microsoft Edge — Settings, then Cookies and site permissions.
Please note that if you block strictly necessary cookies, parts of the site may not work as intended — for example, your cookie choices and certain security features may not be remembered.
Consent
For visitors in the European Union and European Economic Area, we rely on your prior consent before storing or accessing any non-essential cookies on your device, as required by the EU GDPR and the ePrivacy rules as implemented in Latvia. Strictly necessary cookies are exempt from this requirement because they are essential for a service you have requested.
This means that:
- non-essential cookies (preferences, analytics and marketing) are set only after you have given clear, affirmative consent;
- consent is requested through a cookie banner or settings panel, where each optional category can be accepted or rejected separately;
- you can withdraw consent as easily as you gave it, at any time; and
- we keep a record of the consent you provide so that we can demonstrate compliance.
Where cookies process personal data, the lawful basis is your consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR) for non-essential cookies, and our legitimate interest in operating a secure, functional website (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR) for strictly necessary cookies.
Do Not Track
Some browsers offer a "Do Not Track" (DNT) signal that tells websites you do not wish to be tracked. There is currently no agreed industry or legal standard for how websites should respond to DNT signals, so we do not rely on DNT alone. Instead, we give you direct control through our cookie settings, and we do not set non-essential cookies unless you have consented to them. Where your browser sends a recognised global privacy or consent signal, we aim to honour it as our systems support it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Cookies Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the cookies we use, in technology, or in the law. When we make material changes, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, ask for your consent again. We encourage you to review this page periodically so that you stay informed about how we use cookies.
